Beau S. Brooks

Beau S. Brooks is a native of Thibodaux where he graduated from Thibodaux High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Nicholls State University, majoring in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. He received his Law Degree from Southern University Law Center in 2004 and served as a law clerk for the Honorable A. Bruce Simpson after law school. Beau formed Brooks Law Office, APLC in 2005 and he currently serves as the City Attorney for the city of Thibodaux. Beau has extensive experience in both civil and criminal litigation.
In 2019, Beau's family received Family of the Year by the Governor's Office of Disability Affairs at its annual GOLD awards. In 2020, Beau was awarded The Citizen Lawyer Award by the Louisiana State Bar Association which award recognizes lawyers who perform noteworthy public service or engage in charitable and civic activities for the benefit of others out of a sense of concern, duty, responsibility, and professionalism. In 2021, Beau was awarded The Leah Hipple McKay Memorial Award for Outstanding Volunteerism. This distinguished award is given in recognition of the highlighted contributions made by members of the Louisiana State Bar Association to the civic health and quality of life within their home towns and parishes.
Beau is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Lafourche Parish Bar Association, Thibodaux Kiwanis Club, Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce and is the co-founder of Upside Downs nonprofit.
